MotS and Dark Jedi?
2006-01-09, 7:19 PM #1
Jedi Knight was full of awesome dark jedi, and they were easy to stick into a level. I'm having trouble doing the same thing.

What I'd like to do is use someone like Sariss in my MotS map. I don't think that's completely possible, though.

But, um....

Right now, I can't even get dark kyle/mara to work. They show up in the level, but they don't have lightsabers. What is wrong with that?

Hi, one thing that you might need to do is to identify your jedi object as the 'darkkyle' or 'darkmara' in the darkkyle.cog you are using. This can be done with these steps:

add a jedi object into your level
click on the jedi and find out what object number it has
add the darkkyle or darkmara cog to your level using F7 in JED
type this number into the box that is labelled 'darkkyle' in the Level Cog screen
make sure to click refresh
save and load your level to test it

I think this will 'light up' the sabre and make it collide for you, which is done by the cog. Hope this is useful! I haven't used the JK 3DOs myself, though, so I don't know whether the sabre will be correctly aligned if you use the JK Sariss.

Thanks. Yeah, I can't believe I didn't try the cog thing. (I tried a lot of other wierd stuff.)

It shouldn't be too hard to get another jedi to work.

As far as I remember it worked the same in both JK and MotS: you need to attach the cog and assign something or other. Can't remember what though, sorry :( It's been a while (5 years at least).
