1. I've been getting back into editing and I was looking for Spork and found the site hacked, any way to download it?

2.Can I use ConMan to open up Saber Battle X to mess around with the skins and add my own and play my skins on Saber Battle X? I was using SBX2 but ConMan wouldn't open it. (I can put my skins in the game normally by editing the 3dos and mats etc. so they work.)

3. I'm not planning to re-release my version of SBX just wanted to know if it''s possible. Failing that can I do it with Spork. Mainly I want a grapple or something to get around with.

4. What are the must have mods? Other than SBX what are the top 5?

dont know not sure, u cant use anything from someone elses mod without permission.

Conman or Patch commander can open files, as well as... JKgobber.

as for the best mods, Imperial Weapon Pack 2 and Fatal Resistence are my favs.
Code:
if(getThingFlags(source) & 0x8){
  do her}
elseif(getThingFlags(source) & 0x4){
  do other babe}
else{
  do a dude}

Conman CANNOT open SBX3.1, but JKGobber can. SadowX gobbed in JKGobber, so only it works.

For all the other things, I have to suggest you MAKE your own mods, not puzzle-piece other mods together.

CAGE. Another great lil gob opener/extractor.

I was able to make my own skins as well, but had to do a few tricky steps to get them to appear in game while using SBX. You have to gob the skin, and put it in the \active\ patch folder (right where sbx is when it is enabled). When you fire up patch comdr, it doesnt like it, but both bulbs will light..and u can play as your new guy in game (if others downloaded it, they will see you as well, if they do the same thing).

This step has to be repeated each time u start JK. (aka, remove the gob, load patch comdr, close patch cmdr, re-put the skin gob back into \active\ folder, re-open PC and it works).

And some other MODs:
- SBX_3.1 ( prolly the best sounds/most realistic saber fighting )
- Ninja Kage v7.0 ( which also has flips and a grapple; shurikens/kitana/caltrops )
- ss3 version9.0 ( super soliders 3, later renamed FR- Fatal Resistance ); gun mod
( pipe bombs, m16, uzi, glocks w/ silencers, cluster bombs, rocket launches, etc )
- EWP

Thanks, just a few more questions about running JED without the CD:

"JED (a .jkl editing program) will ask you for a CD to make sure you really have JK, but all it wants is the first two smacker cutscenes - 01-02A.smk and 03-04A.smk. To fix that, crreate a gamedata\resource\video\ directory on one of your drives, put those two movies in it, and tell JED that's your CD drive. You can also use a mapped drive if you want."

Where do I place the video directory on my drive? I just put it in the reasource folder.

How do I tell Jed that is my CD drive? Cannot seem to figure this one out. But I/ve got JK to run fine without the CD.

Just put the folder in your C main directory. Go in Tools > Options. Where it says "Jedi Knight CD", choose C: instead of D:.

Hope this helps.

Provided they answer you back. :p In this day and age of JK Editing, emails could be outdated, and/or the author could care less about what happens with their works. However, the rule of thumb is to email the author if it's ok. (usually it is) If you don't hear from the author in, say, a week or so (or you know them to be MIA from JK Editing) give them proper credit in your mod's readme. It's not that hard to do. :)

No reason he can't add a few things though, long as he doesn't release it. *shrug*
If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.

Or you can use ZeqMaqaw's (sp) build of JED, called ZED, which doesn't do the CD check.
