JK Thing/Adjoin Patch
2006-06-20, 6:14 AM #1
OK, I put the patcher.exe and the patch.dat into the Jedi Knight directory, backed-up JK.exe, and ran patcher.exe. It said it was patched, but I've reached the limit for adjoins in my level, and it's the old limit, not the patched one.
What's going on here?

Are you sure it's not just HOM resulting from bad editing? I mean, no offense, but have you checked that it's not always happening at the same surfaces, no matter what viewing angle/distance is used?

I got the same, i have the adjoin limit remover patch, and my levels with complex archi have started to go preeeety weird.
Code:
if(getThingFlags(source) & 0x8){
  do her}
elseif(getThingFlags(source) & 0x4){
  do other babe}
else{
  do a dude}

I've tried it on several different surfaces in different directions. It's driving me insane.

The Adjoin Limit Remover allows your own PC's virtual memory to be used instead of JK's memory alotment. We've run into issues with the adjoin plugin on many older PCs. This would Explain Rutherven's issues, considering I know his specs. Your specs, I'd bet, are also low. Especially if you have lower Virtual Memory.

If no, then you may or may not have the older version of the installer.

If both of those ideas are wrong, then I'm stumped.

How do I get the newer version of the installer?

First, try uping your virtual memory and see if that corrects the problem.
