Hey there,
I recently came up with the idea of a mod for MOTs when I found out that the original MOTS game was intended to feature a level in which you played as Luke fighting Vader in The Empire Strikes back. The idea was (stupidly) canned, but the models and maps for the game were made useable in Multiplayer.
But now, to the point.

I believe that it would be cool if this level was completed and made playable, so that people would have access to an unfinished project so-to-speak. I have never made a mod that was more complex than SaberColor Editing, mostly because I have almost no modding knowledge. I was wondering if anyone would like to help me, or assist in the production of this mod.
I need to know how to:
Make Multiplayer maps useable in a Singleplayer Level
Make Multiplayer characters useable as NPCs in a Singleplayer Level
Make Multiplayer characters useable by player in a Singleplayer level
Make NPCs attack certain objects after a certian amount of time.
Also any overall modding advice (PLEASE BE ACCURATE!).

I will post more details later if anyone is interested.

P.S.- I would also like some good sources for modding advice.

Greetings. Welcome to JK and MotS editing.

I was wondering if anyone would like to help me, or assist in the production of this mod.
There are very few active editors, so it will likely be hard to pull them away from their own projects to help in any substantial way. There is hope, though; read on.

Make Multiplayer maps useable in a Singleplayer Level
Using JED, open the jkl file, select Tools, select Episode Editor, select Episode Type 1 (Single Player). Then, save the jkl.

Make Multiplayer characters useable as NPCs in a Singleplayer Level
I am not exactly sure what you mean by this. If you want to use the *models* shown in the Multiplayer character selection screen, then you would need to change the NPC's (we call them actors) template to use the correct model (a 3do).

Make Multiplayer characters useable by player in a Singleplayer level
Same as in previous paragraph.

Make NPCs attack certain objects after a certian amount of time.
Not sure about this one; you will have to read through the actor AI documents.

Also any overall modding advice (PLEASE BE ACCURATE!).
Start off small. Try changing one feature at a time. Practice using JED.

I would also like some good sources for modding advice.
The Massassi Temple (under the Resources on the menu on the left) has several pages of editing references and tutorials. Start with the Basics. Also, check out the JK Editing Hub and its related chat room, where several of us idle and help whenever we can.

Several people have made LEC's Bespin level playable. Here's a link to one:
http://jediknight.net/editing/files/bespin-sev2.zip

But don't let that stop you! The process of looking at other people's levels helps you to create your own. I also HIGHLY recommend reading through Massassi's tutorials. They're the best and fastest way to learn how to edit JK/MotS.
