Hi. I have the Jedi Knight Enhanced mod with high polygon models and I'm trying to remove kyle's shoulder pad for a skin I'm making for my upcoming mod. Any idea on how to do this?

You need the fine 3do editing program called JOKE v0.7.7 (I'm too lazy to give you a url for it but I think it's attached to massassi or the HUB)
You can then open the ".3do" file you want.

I would then go to "FREE" view (the bottom TAB) as you can rotate your view easily by holding down the ALT key.

I would go about it by deleting the SURFACES of the shoulder pad followed by the deletion of residual VERTICIES of the shoulder pad....here's how

Go into vertex mode, then selection mode (the icons)
This will allow you to select the verticies that make up the shoulderpad
(you should select verticies in small groups, or individually)

Once you have certain verticies selected, I like to move them into open space. (this can be done by changing SELECTION mode to MOVE)
This will allow for easy future deletion of the surfaces (as they will be separated from the original model, and you can see what the model will look like without all those FACES).

When you make a successful vertex move, SAVE IT. JOKE v0.7.7 does not have undo, like if you accidentally select and move a different vertex in your selection box.

Once all desired verticies are moved, go into SURFACE, SELECT mode (icons).
Select the shoulderpad surfaces that you moved away and delete them. (CTRL DELETE)

Then go back into VERTEX, SELECT mode (icons) and delete the verticies that made up the shoulderpad surfaces you just deleted. This is because verticies will remain even after a surface deletion, incase a different surface shares it.

Then you have a CLEAN model, just by going in and manually deleting some surfaces then verticies.

I'm not sure if deleting the vertex right away will delete its correlating surfaces, that's why it's safe to delete surfaces first, then verticies. Remember, JK can get fussy with 3dos, so it's good to keep things clean.

One you get JOKE it will make a bit more sense. It makes sense to me but you might have other questions.
