Best Model Viewer for Screen Shots?
2007-08-14, 3:25 PM #1
I am not familiar with editing for DF2 as I am working with the GzDOOM engine instead, and I am going to stick with Hi-Res sprites for my project, rather than using models (for that retro appeal).

What I would like to do is take screen shots of DF2 models in various poses, which is something I have been able to do with Jedi Outcast and Academy models, but I've yet to find a clean and easy method for doing so with DF2.

Any advice?

Try PJED (Puppet JED). It is a squirrelly tool if you try to load some custom 3dos, but it's purpose is to help make animations (.key files) for models.

It reads original Jedi Knight models and .keys without having to extract every file. So you can see guys run, pause them, and take a printscreen of them.

(If you try to open custom 3dos, make sure each .mat file used in the .3do is in the "/mat" folder under the folder where the 3do is. You can see what .mat files are being called to be used in the model if you open the .3do file with notepad)
This is retarded, and I mean drooling at the mouth
