How do I make a skin that I make an enemy?, or how do I make a skin that someone else made, an enemy?

P.S. I'm making this MOD and I'm wondering if anyone wants to texture some ships I made?

The way Gonk did it, and the way I'm doing it is to take the existing skin and put it onto an already existing enemy 3do. This has limited application though.
