No, not acme or anything like that, i wanna know how to put a new mat on an added 3do. For example, I added a hat to a guy. I used the top of the head mat for it because the tutorial said to use the one closest to the one you add. But apparently my hat is bigger than the top of his head. Now I am left with the back of his hat being black. How do i change that?

Look in the texturing tutorials here at massassi for how to stitch and scale textures. It works the same way on 3dos as it does in levels.

Ya I know ive seen them. i still have a question, though.
Ok, here goes.
I added a hat on to a guy, as I've said. Everything worked just fine, except the back of the head didn't show up. So I started Over. This time, I textured the items in JED. I did everything else, and it worked, except the whole thing was white. So i put a .mat file in a new folder, the mat folder. How do I use that mat for my hat?

Hmmmm I figured it out... sorta

One problem still (always)
Ok, I did a SANTA hat on this guy. I made the mat so the top would be white (the little fuzzy ball), the middle would be red, and the bottom would be white. But when I go into the game, the mat is different kinda. If you look at it from the back, it is inverted (The top is red, the middle white, and the bottom red). If you look at it from the side, it is how it is supposed to be, but if you look at it from the front it is also inverted. Do you know how to fix this?

Sorry i keep posting so many replies, it's just that i keep figuring more things out, but when i figure something out there's always another problem or question. Here's the newest one.
I have gotten to the point where i have exported the sector as a 3do. I now have the hat as a 3do and the origional model as a 3do. I added a .mat called Red.mat (ya, its just a red square, so what) anyways, it is in the .mat list of the hat. But if i transfer the hat over to the origional model, it would get lost somewhere (like, it wouldn't be in the material list of the origional 3do) So i guess the question is, how do I ADD a material to the origional list?

Sorry i just can't help posting my problems.
I tried to add a material to the origional 3do as follows:
It said something like this
1 k18facet.mat
2 k18facef.mat
blah blah blah
niways at the end i added the materials that i used. But now when i try to get into that character, it just shuts down the program. I don't know what i did wrong... I added the .mat files into a mat folder in my program directory.

If you are using a solid colored mat make sure the geo for that surface is set to 3 not 4.
