cogs won't show up
2000-12-23, 8:27 AM #1
I go to placed cogs and add a couple of LEC cogs. Then I refresh and save & test level. the cog don't work. Then I gob it and it still don't work. It seems similar to my last problem but I tried the gob and the JKtree and they don't work. Can anyone help?

oh, and I also open the gob in conman but the cogs don't show up there either.

I had the same problem with LEC cogs. I found that for some reason (I don't know what) many of the LEC cogs won't work, so it's easier just to download, or make your own cogs for the same effect.

There are a couple of possibilities. Either you didn't set the parameters for the cog right or it can't find the cog.

JK only looks in 2 places for the cog, mat and other files. One is your project gob. The other is the resource gob (res2.gob or jkmres.goo). If you added one of the cog files that is not in one of those 2 (in the original JK episodes gob for example) the game won't be able to find it. If that's the case just extract the cog from the jk gob and put it in your project directory's cog subdirectory.

Are you sure it's in your project\cog dir? I had the same problem. BE SURE that the cog is in the project\cog dir. You can just place the cog in your project directory and run the JKTree plugin in JED...

ok, I made sure it was in my project folder in another folder called "cog." Then I redid the JKtree. I tested it and gobbed and played it still no cog. Any other ideas? This time conman shows the project's cog, but it doesn't work in-game.
