I printed out the tutorial on how to make elevators, and it works fine, except for one thing. Whenever I cross over the surfaces that are suposed to activate it (as described in the tutorial), it won't go down. When I get off the platform, then it goes down. I have no clue what I did wrong.

Any help at all would be appreciated.

There are 2 sides to every adjoin - you picked the wrong one. Use the oposite side of the adjoin in the cog.
