When I go to 3D Preview in Jed, a good number of the mats are messed up. I have changed the sector colormaps and the Master CMP all around but can not see the textures clearly. When I am slecting the textures they look fine, but when I look at the preview they are messed up. Could this be a problem with my monitor(set on 16 bit)or something I have just overlooked?

The master cmp and the sector cmp should be the same. If the mats aren't intended to work together, then one or the other will look wrong.

Have you tried to see what it looks like in the game?

Play around with some of 3D Preview's Options. All that RGB, Ramp Emulation, Open GL, etc. Find which setting works best for you.

I always try to match up the numbers at the front of the texture name with the right colormap. I have mostly used the 00*.cmp extures and get a wierd greenish color.
Do the sector colormap and the master colormap always have to match for there to be no real problems? Do you really need a master colormap?

Rhetteman was right, I changed the Direct3D device from Ramp to RGB emulation and that did the trick, thanks a lot for replying. The problem was getting really bothersome.

You definately need a master colormap. you can set different sector cmps, but it will look bad on machines that don't have 3d cards.
