I took a lot of tme off making my level and comp[letely re did my comp since then. I have jed running and put all my folders back where tye belong...the level loads, I can edit it, all the mats show up, consistancy checker is clear, etc. but whe I save and test, the dos window comes up and one line reads bad comand or file name, and the JK prog doesnt load up. could it be because I using a backup copy? (the origional level has some unfixable errors in it). I also had the little default box prob with some of my custom 3dos the last time I worked on it. Thanks in advance for any help.

Make sure it is looking for the JK directory in the right place.

OK., i checked that out.befor we go on, I got some 'spainin to do
C: is my windows partition
D: is where I store all my info including me games directory and JED
E: is a my girlfriends hard drive and her windows partition
F: is her stored info, etc.
G: is my CDRW, and where I installed JK from
H: is my old CD rom that doesnt work anymore

in the options menue, its looking for the cd in G: and the game directory in E:...which is correct. when the little dos window comes up, its looking for the CD in D: for some reason. I cant see anywhere else to change the directory.

Check the folder, and if that doesn't help, edit the bat file in your project folder that executes JK. It should look like your_level_TEST.bat or something like that. Open it in notepad and make sure the command lines are correct. Also try just saving and gobbing to test.

er, can a CDRW drive read CD's that way?

OK , I tried messing with the file a bit and got it to launch. only, I could only test games on the CD in debug mode. I messed around some more and havent had any more success. right now, this is where Im at with the notepad

BTW I run all my games from the CDRW now that My CD rom is broke. The only one that gives me trouble is Everquest

You have the batch file going to E, then going to G. I thought JK was on D.

Sorry , I got my D and E backwarsd when I was discribing my drive setup. E is where my stuff is and D is the other windows. Im still messing with the file in notepad. do you think it would workif I just deleted the file and let jed make a new one? thanks again
