But don't overlook the importance of lighting in your levels. It's one of the most important mood-setting elements.

Personally, I use more sector lighting than actual lights. But a proper balance is neccessary. Your lighting should be logical and varied throughout.

Darnit.

I spent like about 10 hours making my level, setting everything up, and there i go, i accidentally hit calculate lighting thinking it wouldn't screw the thing up, then what happens???!?!? BLACKOUT! nooooooooooo!!!!!

So what do i do to fix it? i've set all the lighting on the surfaces to 3, then i go to play the level and all the things are dark colored!

help me fix this please!

Just click light all in the lighting menu.

Today's lesson: Always keep 5 or more backups of your level on different drives, in different directories and on different computers.

never mind. I fixed it so it looks pretty decent, but not how it was before.

If you're setting all the lighting to be the same, use sector lighting not surface lighting. It takes a lot less to do.
