How do I do this??
2001-02-26, 10:00 AM #1
I've made a convoy vehicle 3do, and i'd like it to be able to move from one sector into another, i want it to be in a 'hover' mode the whole time though. Please don't tell me i need to use trajjed, 'cause i get sooooo confused with it. The vehicle has nothing on it that's supossed to move, I'd just like the whole thing to move.

Thanks for your help.
I am lost and could care less if someone finds me.

Well, you could always try Pjedi instead... [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif]

The best option for this would be to make a key(s) for it's movement. You can also do this via cog with frames(like a door). The problem is, moving things by frame can look jerky if there's a lot of adjoins in view. That object's smooth movement will be the first casuality of lots of detail. Depending on when you want it to move, use the
MoveToFrame(thing, frame, speed);
command.

Don't know cog? Then go to:

ok nm. I'll just have to come up with a better idea. Right now i'm just getting good at doing 3dos, and i don't think it'd be wise to lose my practice trying to learn cog as well, once 3dos become easy for me (once i get good enough to make a cruisemissile trooper) i'll probably try to learn cog. the closest thing i know about cog is doing .ai files, and i don't think that's too hard.
