I think the program you are looking for is Font Jedi. However, I have never used it.

Yeah, the file type you want to edit are called .SFT's.

What do you mean, you don't know if it works? Did you change the color and/or style of the fonts? Did you put them in the ui/sft folder of your project directory? Did you use Patch Commander or a .bat file to launch your level?

Here's a hint: When making SFT's for use with a custom made BM, always use the BM's color palette so the colors of BM and SFT don't clash.

The color of the fonts is actually done through the pallette of the background image, and can't be changed in the SFT file. So for a different colored font, create a new BG image for JK.

FontJedi will technically let you MAKE an SFT with a color from a default pallette, but in agreement with your point, If you compare the two pallettes, the color will be in a different location on each pallette, hence, a different color. And the combo will always look freakin' horrible. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

So eliminate that problem from the start: when using FontJedi, hit 'File/Use Pallette From BM'.

Make your menu backgrounds. Then, make a custom pallette, using colors with similar hues to those of the regular pallettes. Load your pallette for the picture, save, and use the BM. If you want to change not only the color, but the look of the fonts as well, do this. First, you'll probably need a hex editor. Open up the .sft in the hex editor. Delete everything before the word BM (you might want to keep the stuff you deleted to make it easier later). Save it as a .bm file. Now it's a BM! Just open it up in BMut, make it a BMP, edit it, then just reverse the proccess to make the .sft again. That should work.
