I've been here a long time lurking the forums, downloading levels, reading tutorials, etc. and now I feel like starting editing [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif]

And I was wondering how people make Mods with new moves, etc.(I.E. Spork)? I don't understand any of that COG stuff, but if that's what it takes then I'd start on my project, but I just wanna know what you need to make that kind of stuff. Mods, custom moves, etc.

Sorry if I sound to newbie-ish and dumb, but I am a newbie after all.

To add new player movements, you have to modify the .pup file for the character in question. This can be a very complicated process.

I suggest that you concentrate on the basics of editing (architecture, texturing, overall layout) first before moving into more sophisticated areas such as creating new .pup files or adding .keys. Just my $0.02.

Welcome to editing. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif]

If you want to try modifying the key/pup files I suggest you get a program called Pupet Jedi. It should be available in Massassi's download section. If its not there you might try www.outpostd34.com too.

Hey welcome to the editing world. I to have been lurking behind around the forums for a while and editing for about 2 years and no one knows who i am.. hahahahaha

oh yeah if you want to do player moves AKA .key files just get puppet jedi and mess around with it then extract the ky.pup from the res2.gob and then replace the old key/move with your new one.\

example: your key pizzawalk.key
ky.pup key kywalk.key
you put pizzawalk where kywalk is then you would walk the pizza walk

BTW you want to join an editing group i could help you along with some editing, for more info goto idarkness.clanpages.com/homepage.html

I agree with Quilty in that you shouldn't start editing by making keyframes. Keyframes are the stuff that make players, enemies and other stuff do what they do. In Puppet Jedi (What MikeC recommended), you have to make each frame. This is very tedious. I suggest, along with Quilty, start editing by making levels. JED 9.5 (Available here at Massassi) will eventaully teach you all the aspects of Jedi Knight/Mysteries of the Sith through levels. Soon you'll be ready to make other things like Keyframes, COGs, 3dos and even new enemies.

Oh, yeah. Hi!

Yeah, I've got that. I've had JED for a long time, but the versions I've downloaded all the time were just too hard to use. I've recently been catching on to the whole thing. I just need to put my creativity to work [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

I also heard of a program that lets you draw your sector(s) and then have it transfered to JED. Is there any tutorials on that?

I forget exactly what it's called. I lost the program and every file I had in my JK files after I had to reinstall it a few weeks ago 8-(
