Texture problem...... help!
2001-03-02, 3:47 AM #1

OK. I made a texture in Adobe PhotoShop. And saved it as a gif image, then converted it to a 24-bit bmp, then converted it to a 256 color bmp, then put it in MatMaster ( i dont think my version is the 16-bit version - which i need to know where to get it ) and then i put it in JK mat, After all that it ended up being a mass of red blue purple orange and green..... and yes i checked other CMPs and none of them worked ... HELP!!!

Ah.

Well, the problem is that the pallete for your image is not ANY of the palletes that JK uses. To fix this, de-MAT a MAT file with Matmaster, and open the resulting bitmap in Photoshop. Then, goto Image->Mode->Color Table and save the current pallete as whatever you want. Then when you go to make an image, when you are done creating the image goto Image->Mode->Indexed Color and for pallete select custom. When it shows the Open dialog box, select the JK pallet. Then save your image as a 256 color bitmap (no need to do the whole GIF - 24-bit bitmap - 8-bit bitmap - MAT thing), and your done.
