I'm having trouble with lighting. I've read all the tutorials, examined other levels, messed with the extra light and light mode options but I just can't figure it out. Could someone explain how I'm supposed to get this to work.

Actually, you haven't read all of the tutorials. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif] Mine, which is located here, doesn't have a link to it on the tutorials page for some reason, yet it's on the server.

All I can say is experiment, experiment, experiment! It'll come..

Sector lights create a uniform light throughout a sector. I generally use these for the minimum amount of light I want in a sector. For dark areas, I normally use a value of about .1 or .2. For a bright room, a value from .4 to .8 might be more appropriate. Then I use the lights to create shadowing and smooth the transition from light to dark areas. To use these, go to light mode, place your lights like you would a 3do. When you have a few lights placed go to tools, and hit "calculate lighting" or "calculate lighting in current layers". Open up the 3d preview and see how it looks. You'll probably have to do some adjusting. It's a trial and error process.
