Ok can someone help?
I just dont get this lighting thing.
I have tried alot of stuff: Intensity, Range, RGB and other stuff but i cant get the lights to work! like say i wanted a red glow around a control panel i set the range to .01 and the RGB to the "red color" and hit calculate lighting... when i open the 3D preview, it does NOT show up!!! i have red all the tutorials including the "hidden" one. what should i do???

Range .01? No wonder you can't see it, its not going anywhere.

The light range has to reach at least one vertex for it to do anything. JK calculates lighting from the vertices.

Also, you can only do colored lighting in MotS. JK does not support colored lighting.

By the way, the lighting range uses JKUs, or Jedi Knight Units. 1 JKU = 30 ft. Just so you have something to compare it to in the editor, 1 JKU = 5 Kyle lengths, (6 ft). Kyle's length = 0.2 JKUs. So, as you can see, the light range you entered, (0.01 JKUs), would be 1/200th the length of Kyle. Starting to see the problem? [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif]

It depends. You need to have at least 1 vertex in the range of the light. Your best bet is just to experiment until it looks right.
