Snap to Vertex

I was trying to follow the random ground tutorial as a test for something, and tried to se dnap to vertex [shift]. This does nothing. Am I supposed to snap the vertex to the grid, or am I using the wrong button?

OK, this is how snap to vertex works: First, go to vertex mode and select the desired Vertex, then hold [shift] and press [s] That should work, if not reply to this to tell me.

Okay, I did what you said. This caused the sector to snap to that vertex. Then does that let you be able to use the grid snap to go to the other vertex? Is there a step missing in the tutorials?

If you want to snap to a different vertex after, just do the same thing with the different vertex selected. I havent read that tutorial yet, but this should work for any time you need to snap to vertex

I was talking about when you cleave and get it to snap to the vertexes to make perfect diagonal cleaves. Is this what you are talking about?

Start your cleave from one vertex as normal. When you cleave it toward the otehr vertex (which is not on the crid) hold down the shift key.
