I need help, i have been dabbleing around with smaker video to create an opening movie for my mod. The demensions of the movie are: 440x380. So to get it to work, i create a new folde rin resource called video, and re-name the file : 01-02a.smk. Now when JK loads, an error appears: "Unable to load file: ????????????k. It may be missing, currently in use, or corrupted.

Now i was wondering if their are any special things i have to do with the video to get it working, like any special modes of compression, or has it got to be a certain size, or am i using a version of Rad Tools that is too modern for JK?

I have seen an SMK used in savageX's mod, and i was wondering if him, or anyone else who knows, could post on this thread and tell me.

The movie has sound in it, but the version with sound, and the version without both dont work, so it isnt the sound compression. The AVI file is not compressed.

If this is for a level pack then you can put it in your JED folder and add cutscene.smk to the episode creator. Then Create JK Tree, jkl, gob and run it.
If you want to replace one of the videos then I would make sure that it's the same dimensions as the JK cutscenes.

Sorry, I've just realised, I don't think you can do what you're trying to do because the videos are in the CD drive so JK wouldn't check in the hard drive folder for them.

Looks like your stuck with the episode editor, unless SavageX pops by and tells you his secret.

No, i was doing it correctly, i solved the problem, i was using the new version of smacker tools, i jus downloaded the old version and made the video and it works!

Dont know anything about smacker but I like your website. You know it doesnt fit right at 800x600 though. Still a common screen resolution. Although maybe not by gamers.

Are you using the Smacker/Bink tools? If so, that is your problem. You need to use this instead. This is an older version of the Smacker Tools, and it works with JK.
