New ammo bins

How do you create a new ammo bin that will show up in the HUD?

I don't know if you can. Some of my experiments with weapons and their bins have had strange results. I hope somebody can come along and answer this.

My advice would be to just overwrite an existing weapon, and take it's ammobin. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

In your weapon file at the AutoSelect part , in there it should say a line "check to see if he has ammo", then it will say getinv(11 or 12 , change that to another bin number at it will autoselct proberly and use that bin number for ammo.

I tried replacing every 11 to 15 in the bryar cog, Seifer, and the regular ammo showed up in the hud. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/confused.gif]

That's essentially what I've found out. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/frown.gif]

Whatever ammo you want your bryar replacement to use, it'll still always act like it's using energy cells(500 rounds at max).

On the surface, Seifer's advice is sound, but the HUD never sees it that way. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/frown.gif]

I've never noticed anything in the cogs that could possible indicate what ammo bin will display HUD-wise. I fear it's hardwired into the game. Somebody please tell me I'm wrong!
