Adding new templates
2001-05-19, 6:05 PM #1
I've added several new templates to my .jkl file and now the rest of the templates don't work. The new ones work fine, but no other templates in the .jkl will work. If I mark out a few of the new templates, then all of them will work ok.

Could you give me several things I need to check, or should I post the templates?

Here's the templates:

Code:
+missile	+railbase1	thingflags=0x20000400 timer=1000 model3d=missile.3do size=0.003000 movesize=0.003000 puppet=ra.pup soundclass=missile.snd creatething=+lgflash airdrag=0 height=0.003 physflags=0x200 vel=(0/2.5/0) angvel=(0/0/0) explode=+missile_exp2 fleshhit=+missile_exp2 damage=5.000000 typeflags=0x24020d
+m1 +missile cog=m1.cog
+m2 +missile cog=m2.cog vel=(0/0/0)
+m3 +missile cog=m3.cog vel=(0/0/0)
+m4 +missile cog=m4.cog vel=(0/0/0)

These templates work fine, but for some reason the rest of my templates in the static.jkl don't work. When I put a # before some(but not necessarily all) of these new templates, everything works.

What's wrong? [http://forums.massassi.net/html/confused.gif]

I've read that tutorial already, and I don't see anything in my template that could cause the rest of the templates in the static.jkl not to work.

That tutorial didn't say anything about declaring your cogs, 3dos, etc in the sections above the templates in the .jkl. That is probably where my problem lies.

Thanks anyway, Docter. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif]

Now could someone give me something else to try?

hmm, are the templates above the rest of them, or below? I don't know if that matters, but you might try moving them around...

[oh yeah, and what about +railbase1? Is that defined above the new ones?]

If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.

Okay, I have it fixed. My templates wouldn't work because I didn't have my cogs defined correctly. I had them listed in the cogscripts section instead of the cogs section.

And Sarn, when I added about 15 templates into the static.jkl some of the last ones I added didn't work. I fixed it somehow by moving them around, but I think if I had defined everything correctly and had all of the "based on" templates above it, it would have worked fine.

Thanks to everyone who replied [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif]
