Did you use matmaster or mat16, matmaster doesnt work for 16 bit mats, mat16 is made for 16 bit skins.

well let's see, I said I made some 16bit mats... matmaster won't make 16bit mats... so whats left, oh I duno, oh what do you know! I used mat16! gee that was hard to figure out.

anyway they look cool in mat16, they just screw up in game.

Don't get mad at me, that is just a common problem I've seen here in the forums when people use matmaster to make 16 bit mats.
Anyway, I'm just trying to narrow down the possibilities of what the problem could be.
And sorry I couldn't help.

Does your computer support 16 bit mats in JK?

The reason they were only recently discovered is that they only work if you have a 3d video card. Even some of the older 3d cards don't work.

Clarify what exactly you mean.

Did they come out with an effect similar to the rainbow-like appearance of oil on water? If so, that would indicate a problem with the colors in the bmp, or an error made by Mat16 itself.

Was it like the static on a TV screen with tons of different colors? That would mean your system does not support 16-bit mats. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/frown.gif]

At least enlighten us as to weather you have definately played a level with 16-bit mats in it before.

it was like static on a tv, and I have a 3d card and I've played many levels with 16bit mats.

If you are seeing it in the 3d preview, make sure you are using Jed v.95 - previous versions don't support it. If you are seeing it in the game itself, make sure you have the 3d acceleration turned on in the game options.
