I have made a new .pup for one of my new enemies, I try to save it as sniper.pup in text only format, but it saves it as sniper.pup.txt. Now I can save AI and cogs and it works fine, but it won't work with pup files. What am I doing wrong?

No see, say I save it into a folder called "stuff," I save the pup as sniper.pup, after I save it I look in the folder and it shows up as sniper.pup but when I look at its properties it shows it as sniper.pup.txt and it isnt in .pup format, it is in .txt format. Is there a way to change the formatting?

What version of Windows are you using? I'm using '98 SE so it might be different for you.

In Folder Options, click the view tab. You'll see an option called "Hide extensions for know files types." Uncheck it and you'll see the .txt extension and be able to rename it.

Is .pup a know file type on your comp? I think that's your problem. So if it isn't, create a new file type in Folder Options.

Another way to do it is this.

Click on the MS-DOS icon that loads in window. Goto the directory with your file

Then type

rename saber.pup.txt saber.pup and it will rename it...

basically

rename file1original file1newname

when you go to save your pup, click "save as".
and go down to the drop down menu to select "all files", Now it should save as anything you name it as, by default Notepad saves anything as a .txt file, you just have to change it in the dropdown.
