I use JED but some people use other things such as milkshape and 3dsm.

I wrote a tutorial on how to go about making new models in jed quite a while ago, lemme see if I can find it. It's a pretty crude tutorial but you should be able to follow it.

*15 minutes later*

Code:
Step One: Start up Jed.

Step Two: Import the ky 3do.

Step Three: Using the default sector, Carve out the body part you will be replacing.

Step Four: Once you have the part carved out, move it to were it would be on the ky.3do you imported earlier. Fine tune it's placement by hitting F9 and rotating it.

Step Five: Now select the part,"sector", you just made. *NOTE* make sure you only have your sector selected. Then go to edit and hit Copy.

Step Six: Close the current project your working on and open a new one.

Step Seven: Paste your sector into this new project.

Step Eight: Now's the time when you export your sector as a 3do. Go ahead and do so.

Step Nine: Now, using conman, extract the ky.3do and open it up in a notepad.

Step Ten: Open up the 3do you made in a wordpad too.

Step Eleven: In the notepad of the 3do you made, copy everything starting at the Radius thats undernieth the, "Name layer0", part and stopping when you get to the hierarchy nodes. *NOTE* make sure you didn't accidentally copy the Name or any of the hierarchy nodes.

Step Twelve: Now go to the notepad of the ky.3do. Do a search for the body part you are replacing. Example* rarm "right arm"
Step Thirteen: When you find the first one, highlight all of that certain meshes info, EXcluding the name!

Step Fourteen: then paste your 3dos mesh info over the originals.

Step Fifteen: You will then have to search for that body part 3 more times and do this same process to those three. *NOTE* Each time, making sure to leave the original mesh name behind.

Step Sixteen: Now you can save the edited ky.3do. Try it out by placing it in your 3do folder and testing it out in game.

Step Seventeen: To edit the other body parts, simply copy this precess for each body part. Lotsa work ain't it? [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif]

You can either use this, "notepad" way of replacing meshes or you can just create the meshes by doing what the first half said and then using fun3do to import the peices into the ky model then using the replace mesh feature.

I know there's already a tut. about this but maybe I should fix this one up and submit it for the tutorials section.
