I just re-skinned kyle and made the 3do, but for some reason he sinks into the floor to his knees, like quicksand. This problem hs probably already been addressed, but they took out the search featue and I don't feel like digging through old posts. does anyone have any experience with this type of problem?

Yes, it is floor flagged, and it worked up until I reskinned kyle

It's not the floor. Open up the ky 3do in a notepad and change it's insertion offset to
# Insertion offset
INSERT OFFSET -0.000050 0.000000 0.120114

To not have this problem, when you want to change the mats used on the ky model, just open it in notepad and change the names of the mats used.
