aight....i've been trying to figure JED out for so long it aint even funny. Even with the tutorials i can't use it....so i've been workin with JKEDIT...which i find easy but it has this 35.00 registration fee to get it's full potential. So i was wondering if anyone knew of an editor that was usable by an idiot like myself?

Hi,
What you need is a person to sit down with you and step by step explain JED. All the concepts are not very difficult, but I must admit I was extremely baffled when I first tried it. I would have made no progress without a good friend who had some knowledge. As it is, you might want to try posting your problems one at a time so some of us can help with that. Here are the addresses of some of the best sites.

www.code-alliance.com

The code alliance has many editors and other things. You should find someting there to help.

Almost everyone here uses Jed. To date I think maybe 1 good level has been made with JKEdit. The learning curve is steeper on Jed, but I think its worth it.

I don't know what tutorials you have been reading, but make sure you start with the basics.
