Making hills/dunes

I am having problems making hills and dunes in JED. I've tried using the tutorial by Brian about how to make rugged terrain and just pulling the vertex up instead of down. But in the consistency checker, I get an error stating that that sector is non-convex.
If any of you out there could find an alternative method, you would make my day.
If you have any questions you would like to ask me about my problem, email me at cmgsta_ff@hotmail.com and I'll get back to you in a week. I'm going on vacation tomorrow, so I won't be able to respond to you until next week. However, I will be checking back here on this forum, all of today, Friday.
Thank you for your help, and goodbye.

You can cleave, which is what I do, but it large areas this lags BAD. I never can get the sector go work right with Brian's tutor anyways, I always mess it up.

Well, you obviously did not read his tutorial well. I read that one as well. I had prob's too. But, I read better. He said, it WILL take more than one try. You have to drag the vertices, Check for errors, hit undo if it gets an error. Try again. I know it's hard to get it to not have errors, maybe almost impossible, but he did it. You may can too. Later!

Sabre_Wulf, you misunderstood me. I haven't had problems with Brian’s tutorial, in the way he says for you to do it. Pulling the vertices down is how the tutorial says to do it. Instead, if you pull the vertices into the sector, the sector becomes non-convex. All I'm asking is if someone has a different way of making hills and dunes, other than that method of making depressions in the soil, or the one in the realistic canyons tutorial.

Pull it really far down and then rotate the sector right side up

The Ripper plugin for JED makes it alot easier doing this because it makes the cleaves for you.

Gabriel - that won't work. It would then be your ceiling.

You can't drag vertices inward (into the sector) because you will get a nonconvex sector every time.

There's 2 things you can do.
1. Cleave and delete sectors to create your hills. If you don't do this just right it will kill your framerate though, so plan carefully.
2. Make 3dos for the hills.

Uh. Mike, I said that, first reply. That method makes some sweet rock towers.
