I need some sounds... (Plz reply! If u help I can make a level wit a good story!)

Sorry bout the newbie-ishness of the topic with "Plz" and "U". I was sorta trying to make room for the name. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

Now to the topic, can someone point me to a FREE sound maker?

If not, then forget it, but if they have the time and tools, can they make me two sounds? One is a looping alarm sound that is better than the poopy JK sound that sounds like it is for a military base.

The other is a "bloop" sound like the power on something going down. SC: Brood Wars Protoss level... 8? 9? The level with that scout hero where you have to take out the power generators is an excellent example (the sound when you knock out the PGs).

Any more sounds that I need I will post in this topic.

Thanks a lot! [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif]

[EDIT: I forgot, I need a chain link fence texture for this level.]

BAH! Goldwave isnt free.

Audacity is an open-source audio editor. It has quite a few nice features, and its free!

Sampled, A nice free-ware editor, easy to use...

Theres lots of them out there, you just have to know where to look. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif]

[Edit]
If your looking for a good sound synthesis package , try audio FX. Ive had some success with it..

Hmmm... Well, how 'bout the sounds? [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif]

BTW, I checked out Audacity. It isn't an editor, it changes the formats of sounds to, say for example, a .wav to a .mp3. If "Sampled" and "audio FX" are like this, then forget it... thsnks for the help though. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif]

Audacity is alot more than just a converter.

Sampled is similar to Audacity, but is slightly easier to use.

AudioFX is intended purely for sound synthesis. It allows one to generate sounds from scratch, using various filters and tone generators. But it also allows for file-based input, so you can do effects on pre-existing audio.

1. Goldwave is shareware and never expires (at least not my version).

2. www.findsounds.com has lots of free sounds to use, search there.

3. Record your imitation of the sound with your voice. Open it in an audio editor, and you can modify it to sound how you want. You can also record real life sounds. The lightsaber hum was made from like the whirling of a move projector and some TV humm mixed and digitized.

heh, yeah, www.findsounds.com

But he was searching for a sounds, editor

1. Go to www.google.com
2. Search for "Cool Edit 2000"
3. Go to it's site
4. Download it.

It is the very best sound file editor, EVER. It has TONS of features, and it's free!
