Ok, here are the basics of understanding vectors. A vector is simply a point on a XYZ axis scale. The X axis in JK goes from west to east, Y goes north and south, and Z goes up and down. Here are a few basic vectors to use for making sector thrusts and conveyor belts:

1/0/0 = moving east
-1/0/0 = moving west
0/1/0 = moving north
0/-1/0 = moving south
0/0/1 = moving up
0/0/-1 = moving down

Just combine these to make diagonal movements

Just a note on diagonal vectors: If you use a thrust vector like 1 / 1 / 0 you'll be moving faster than a simpler vector like 1 / 0 / 0, so you'll need to also adjust the speed.

There's a good tutorial for figuring complex vectors: http://www.massassi.net/tutorials/thrust/tutor.htm
