Lighting question
2001-12-13, 12:35 AM #1
Ok, I have the same lighting question again. How can I make a "beam" of light coming from a fixed position? All I want is to be able to have a beam of light come from a crack in the ceiling, for instance, and to barely illuminate part of the room. I want it sort of like a corona of light, but the tutorial didn't help me any. I've seen in before in levels, so any help would be appreciated.

If you mean the floodlights in Half-Life and Quake Arena, you have to make a transparent 3do and a gradient light texture.

but won't a player be able to walk through that and have a beam of light going through him?
