opening "jktree"
2001-12-15, 2:38 PM #1
i recently posted a question about getting downloaded 3dos into JED so i could use them. I was told to put them in the Project Directory, which i did, and then to run the jktree pluggin that comes with JED. I am assumeing it is the one under the Pluggins folder that came with it. When i try and open this "jktreee", Winzip says:
Wimzip cannot open this because it does not appear to be a valid archive. If you downloaded this file, try downloading it again. If you wish to send this file to an archive, create or open the archive and drop the file again"
I have also tried going to the toolbar in JED and looking under "Pluggins". The olny thing there says: "Create a jktree", but when i click it, it does nothing.

I would greatly appreciate some help!

Note: This is for Jedi Knight using JED_BETA94.

[http://forums.massassi.net/html/confused.gif] It should have absolutely nothing to do with winzip.

In Jed, click along the top of the screen where it says pluggins. Then select jktree from the drop down list.

If your expecting a graphic interface to pop up and say " finished press ok " or something like that, it doesn't. You may not think it's done anything, but it has. It has placed your 3do in a folder it created called "3do" and if there were any mats it placed them in a folder called "mat". that is all that this plugin does. It puts all the files in your project folder into the properly named folders.
MikeC is right there shouldn't be anything to do with zip files.
If you expected this plugin to do anything more then what was said then you will be disapointed. After the files are properly in the correct place (which is what jktree plugin does) then you have more to do to implement the actual 3do into the level. like making a template for it.

Like Jimantore said, it might not appear to do anything. Go back in windows explorer and look at your project directory. It should have created some subdirectories and moved the files around.
