you know when you cleave a wall to make a small square on it. well it leaves lines all over that mat. anyone know how to make it uncleave at that point????? hellllpppp!

Well, you can't "uncleave it", but you can merge surfaces. It's not leaving lines on the mat, it's just separated the surface into a few different surfaces. It's necessary that it stay that way to maintain the convexity of the surface.

Multi-select the offending surfaces, and press the M key.

Well, no. By merging surfaces in the way you described, it's likely you'll create some concave (non-convex) surfaces.
