I've been tryiing to make really detailed spiral staircases like the ones that MaDaVentor and halucid made in their levels for the level pack, but I can't get them as perfect as they do when I follow the tutorials or in my own experimentation. My vertices never match exactly so the stairs end up being different sizes. Is there a trick to it? Are they cleaving and deleting or extruding?

Could try the GoRotate plugin. That will make copies of your stair sector in a nice circle. Then you just raise each one and adjoin the surfaces.

Go to GoRotate plugin to copy each step and adjoin them
