I don't remember seeing a tutorial on objectives.

I suggest you get the Jed pluggin GOAL! - it makes setting up objectives very easy.

Goal! is great, but it seems to screw things up if you subsequently try to change anything. Thus, I always do the goals absolutely last and try to get it exactly right the first time. Otherwise, you've got to manually edit hte cog.
