cleaving! HELP!

The cleave tool has no effect on the sector. The grid is in the right place and I've checked everything I can think of, but the cleave tool leaves to line and will not cleave. I even tried reinstalling JED.

and you're not trying to cleave in a angle you got from rotating the view?

Well there are a few possibilities... Either you have it in something other than sector/surface mode, the grid you want to cleave on is not selected, you changed views manually and you didn't do "Grid to View" or if you're surface mode the surface you want to cleave is not selected. That's the only things I can think of.
