how do i make my saber blades more or less transparent?

Well, the transparency colour is black, so adding more black will increase transparency, and removing black will decrease it.

where can i find them to edit them? alpha channels are the black and white things en stuff right? and as for the add more black does that mean the darker i make it the more transparent?

Just use PhotoDraw [or] PaintShop Pro and mess around with the picture settings.

TIE is partially incorrect. Darkening the image's RGB will NOT make it translucent. First you make your normal texture, then you add the alpha map, which is a monochrome version of your texture. You can then edit the alpha map to however you see fit.

Well, I simply added a semi-transparent layer of black to my sabers, and that seemed to succeed in making them more translucent...

um where do i find these alpha channels or how do i make um?
