There a way to preview texture effects?

I notice some textures have neat effects to them, such as glowing and such. Is there a better method to finding out what textures have animations and what those animations look like aside from just stumbling on them by accident while level editing?

You can tell which ones have effects as they have a white box surrounding them in the TEXTURE window.
