I'd like to get this straight - whats the damn deal with .arena files? They don't actually exist!!
The file you ACTUALLY want is called arenas.txt, and its in the folder called base/scripts.
If anyone actually knows what an .arena file is and can prove they truly exist and are used, please reply!

because every level needs to be recognized as a valid arena, the level maker needs to include a level.arena file that will detail what modes of play the level should appear in.

They exist, to get one, I'd suggest Un-zippin' a PK3 some other mapper has made and find it, copy/rename it, and edit it to fit your level.
