Hey do you happen to know how to use Target_laser???
2002-05-31, 11:51 AM #3
HEHEHE!
Are you still trying to find that out?
I've seen your posts about "target_laser" about three to four weeks ago [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

All I can tell you is that it SHOULD work for all I have tried, but it does not so forget about it!
If you want to fire a laser or so, use an "fx_runner" and tag it to an "info_notnull". In the "fx_runner"'s properties, add "fxFile" as the key and the path of an effect on the "assets0.pk3" file that represents a laser or electric beam...
For example!
In the archive, there is an electricity effect in the path:

effects\env\electricity.efx

So to make it work, enter a path of:

env/electricity

Remember to leave our the "effects" path, leave out the ".efx" and only use forwardslashes rather than backslahes...

I've done this already and it works, just set it to "damage-on" on the "fx_runner", there is a property for it!

You're welcome mate [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif]
For those who don't know how to properly insert effects into levels, I will be making a tutorial on it, probably today...
