Ok I have read numerous tutorials on how to make lifts for Jedi Knight II. I have tried them all and had no luck at all. Please give me some help here.

I dont know if you have the tutorial from 007's site, http://mapping.jediknightii.net
I checked that one out and it works, kind of. Instead of doing the trigger area's make a func_button and target it at your lift. You have to do it on both sides though. If you dont know enough about editing to make the buttons just ask again here and I can clarify. Other than that, follow 007's tutorial word for word, just skip the trigger stuff and do a func_button.

did you guys even read his post?

anyway, dude, need more info - how is it not working? we arent a bunch of telepaths who can instantaneously solve your problems.
Shaving is not a high priority with Jedi.
Would you want to shave with a lightsaber?

I don't like quake, never liked quake, and don't like Star Wars quake. So basically jk2mp.exe never gets used on my computer.

I've been thinking about posting a topic on this very issue, for I am having problems as well. I'm attempting to use func_plat, which seems to have the right effect save for one thing. The lift doesn't move until AFTER I step OFF of the lift. While I stand on the lift, nothing happens, but the second I get off it moves.

I have also read the tutorials provided by 007 and Rich Diesal. I have followed steps from both these tutorials to the letter and still I cannot solve this problem.

Basically, I'd like someone who has created a well working lift or two to briefly describe how they did it. I think that's what Drywall may also be looking for here. Thanks a bunch.

What I did, was create the elevator/lift, and actually make a button a part of the elevator. Then I placed a trigger_multiple at the bottom of the shaft where the button inside the elevator would be, then I placed a second button at the top of the elevator on the outside, so people at the top of the shaft can call the elevator. Place the elevator at the top of the shaft, make it a func_plat, then add the key HEIGHT and the value ## (## is the distance the elevator is from the bottom of the shaft). I know this sounda little complicated...just take it one step at a time [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif] Good luck!

Yes, and what is your setup between the buttons and the func_plat?
