Hi! I've been reading alot of tutorials for Jk2 Radiant and have been doing well. I can texture and light a good level, add doors, and player start and light. Is there a tutorial on stairs? Because I was looking for one, and noone seems to have one, thanks! And I'll post a sn of my newbie level(code named: newbie in game) [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif]. Now, before I do post a sn in massassi forum, how do I do it?

Well, I'm off to school now so I won't be able to get on comp later on tonight (3:00p.m) See ya!

Any tutorials for stairs will work, whether they be for Q3Radiant, JK2Radiant, EFRadiant, GTKRadiant, the brush building is all the same thing.

I made most of my level in JK Radiant. I've only been using the GTK for a lil while so i really dont know much diffrence between them. GTK seems a lil better in some things tho [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

Staris are easy to make [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif] all you haave to do is amke a brush then make another on top of it then another and so on [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif] :P Am I too confusing?

Go here if I am, I learned how to make em from this site http://www.planetquake.com/q3radiant/

GTKRadiant has a plugin for stairs.

Making stairs brush by brush is common sense. As long as you do some measuring that is accurate, you can make almost any staircase. JK2Radiant does not make Spiral Staircases but there is a way to do it without an editor that can.

1. Make a hollow room which could be a basic brush, multiple sided brush, or patch.

2. Make a cylinder that has a base at the floor of the room housing your staircase and touches the room's ceiling.

3. Make each stair a brush a stair and position them around the cylinder and set the heights of the brushes to make the staircase.

4. Format the brushes to "fit" around the central cylinder in the room. This will make it look like a real staircase.

shortcuts are for pussies, not true mappers who believe in their art. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]
Shaving is not a high priority with Jedi.
Would you want to shave with a lightsaber?

I don't like quake, never liked quake, and don't like Star Wars quake. So basically jk2mp.exe never gets used on my computer.

When making stairs, its also a good idea to put a clip brush over the stairs at an angle, so that the player and enemy models can move up and down the stairs smoothly without getting hung up. If you open up the source file for the CTF_Bespin map that radiant released, you'll see what I mean.

Shortcuts can be useful to SAVE TIME if an editor wants to USE THAT TIME to make something THAT HAS NO SHORTCUTS AND NEEDS A LOT OF WORK good.
