I wanted to edit the saber blade. You know have a flaming saber, lightning saber, etc. I was wondering what programs I need. I would also appreciate it if you could point me in the direction of a how-to. Thanks in advanced.

Shaders is one thing.... but most of it all is mearly using photoshop 5! As for sahders... Do not know how to use em yet!

You just need any paint program that can open JPEGs. The files you want are, I think, in assets0.pk3 as gfx\effects\saber or something to that effect. There are JPEGs for the sides of the sabers and the tips.

A good, demo paint program is Paint Shop Pro (www.jasc.com). An excellent freeware one is The GIMP (www.gimp.org), you'll have to dig through a few simple pages and find the Win32 binaries (as opposed to Linux).
