ok reinstalled jedi knight 2 for a menial reason and now when i go to load my custom maps in the console it says, "cannot find mymap.bsp map file" or whatever. Any thoughts??? i saved and compiled my map as normal in gtkradiant though it did compile really quickly. However i put this down to some extra caulking in places where it was needed.

Check to see what folder you saved the .map file in and what folder you placed the .bsp file in. The .map file and the .bsp file has to be in the Gamedat/base/maps folder in order for JK2 to see them through the console.

First:
to know where the bsp is saved, rmember the bsp is saved where your map file saved.
if after you done that its still saying cannot found yourmap.bsp your map is corrupted, if you want to know the problem with your map go to this place in your computer:
C:\Documents and Settings\Your User\Local Settings\Temp in that folder search for a text file that called junk.txt in the text you will see what JK2Radiant/GTKRadiant did at the compile time and if you see WARNING: read it and fix the problem (in your map), and then bsp it again, if its still cannot find something.bsp read the WARNING here

Really need some help on this one peeps. I don't think it is the map because I made another map just a simple room with a light and player start and i got the same problems. It compiles real fast then when i try to run map says cannot find bsp file.

Forget all that i solved it, very weird this one. I had noticed that in project settings it said at top the jedi knight path but thought it was a quake three map style. I switched my project to return to castle wolfenstein then back to jedi knight and walla, fixed.
