How exactly do I install the qe3bsp compiler yadda yadda. Sine said it was rather in-depth.

Any help is appreciated. Even if you are not emon [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif].

1) Download Q3map2
2) Download Emon's magic compiler bat
3) Drag and drop your map on to the bat
4) Watch it compile - in new and exciting ways!

What you want it Q3Map2 2.3:

The newest version is a21 or something like that, it's fully completed for JO/SoF2 with the exception of lightstyles, which should come soon.

By the way, make sure to change the paths otherwise it won't work.

Yes, I did. They worked sweet. And q3map2 fixed some lighting problems I had. Thx! [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

Good deal - Emon, you say the lighting styles aren't complete for JK2 yet? That'd be why the bumpmap doesn't produce error, but doesn't ... show up, right?

Bumpmap? JO does not have bump mapping...

Lightstyles are dynamic lights; flashing, flickering, that sort of thing.

Q3map2 has normal-mapping of lightmaps... it's basically a bumpmap used for the lighting, so it kinda LOOKS like it bumps. It's functionality is pretty dodgy right now. And yeah... that really isn't related to light styles.

Well, heavens to betsy - ... aren't lighting styles already in JO, then?

And bumpmapping didn't appear to work, but I didn't get an error ... jeez

Lightstyles would work if you compile with Sof2Map, not Q3Map2. What error do you get with bumpmaps?
2002-10-15, 4:40 AM #16
I get nada - every time you change the bumpmap shader, it's kosher to re-compile because lighting neets to figure out what it's doing for that shader.

In any case, I'll pay attention to the compile - its likely that there's an error there that I'm not paying attention to.
