how do you make fire in JO ?

Stick a lightsaber in a tree.

It should ignite, keeping you and your Jedi Outcast friends safe and warm.

Create a fx/fx_runner entity.
Select it (Shift + Click)
and hit N. Now add the key fxFile and the value env/firewall. This is an small firewall. The effects are in ASSETS0 in your base directory, you can open it with winzip. When you compile the map a small fire should appear.

If you want a small burning fire (not a wall)

type:
"fxFile" in the 'key' field. (capilazation does matter)

type:
"env/smallfire.efx"
or just "smallfire.efx" in the 'value' field.

In any case, read the fx_runner info. You should not have too many fires blazin at the same time, the game sends a packet to each client for each fx, each time it fires, so ... on one level like Grand_Temple_of_Fire, where there are at least 75 fx_runners, you can't run it on a server, unless you want to lag every client out, and look silly.
