i need to know where i can download a program to explor and extract files from pk3's

Chances are the program u need is right under your nose.

I am guessing u have winzip or if not get it at "http://www.winzip.com". Open a .pk3 as a .zip file and u can extract to somewhere like a new folder. To turn a file back into a .pk3 file just take all th files add them to zip and rename the file from .zip to .pk3

i figured it out by myself real fast,prolly about 5 minutes after this post. i just copeid the files and renamed the extension and then opened them as a zip. Ummm... yeah thanks, could you guys maybe check out my Clipper Tool Help thread, i really need help with it. thanks

You don't have to rename the extension to get it to open in winzip. Just make the program be associated with it by right clicking on a pk3 file, select "open with...", choose "other" and locate winzip on your computer and make sure the option "always open with this program" is checked when you hit ok. This will make winzip open the pk3 files without having to rename to zips.

I highly recommend you use pakscape instead of winzip though. Winzip is more of a hassle to use than pakscape is. Pakscape will display the contents of the pk3 like windows explorer does and makes adding folders and arranging files inside the pk3 a LOT easier than winzip.
