light emitting shaders
2002-11-13, 6:21 AM #1
I tried to light up my rooms with a shader that emits light. The lighting itself worked but I the textured of the shader is nearly identical to the glow image that I applied to it.

I´m still using sof2map.

btw: Do styles in light entities work with the newest version of q3map2 ?

I found it! I used the wrong entry for nolightmap. The correct is

q3map_nolightmap

With that line it works perfectly (but the surface is now immune to every lightning in the map)

nice one [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

was just on my way to say i DO use light-emitting shaders but i only learnt them by taking the default ones apart - so i don't know exactly why they work. All i could have done is pasted a couple into this post...

anyway, so that this post aint a TOTAL waste of time [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

to get shaders emitting COLOURED light [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]
add:

q3map_lightimage textures/mytextures/mybluesquare

in same block as the other q3map commands.
I use textures/colors/blue (or red or any of the other textures there)
