What is needed here are some FAQ threads on JO editing, because this is a Frequently Asked Question!

Well... If you don't want to use one that can be downloaded, you have to edit the skin like any MP skin. (hopefully you know how to do that first)

Where it difers with SP is that the Model_default file for the skin has to be a folder named "Kyle" instead of whatever other skin name.

ive tried that.
i took a model off the net.
went to the model_defult thingy and put "kyle" as the folder instead of the origonal.
then i saved the model to a pk3 making sure it was in the directory structure of the kyle model.
but still when i load up JK SP i still get the kyle skin.

is there something more to the process?

0_o *goes to check some of her SP skins*

Directory: models/players/kyle
model.glm
model_default.skin

The .skin file should point to the textures of the skin your wanting to use - not the kyle textures. You can just copy the .glm and .skin files from that skin and paste them in an otherwise empty "Kyle" folder.

It might be the .skin file is pointing to the Kyle textures. It might be that the files have to be ziped up to work in SP. I can't think off the bat if I've had any other problems...

Whenever you get it to working, a good thing to do is have your Sp modifications and the file including the skin your using in their own Mod folder.

If it's just for yourself, just rename one of the other models to kyle and the kyle model to the other.
